Bacteria
Bacteria was said to be a major cause of
human and animal disease in last century. In developing nations they
continue to kill millions of people. Since Antibiotic was invented in 1940s they
were widely used in the developed nations and helped doctors develop
technique like transplant surgery, IVF and plastic surgery.
Very few are aware of friendly
bacteria, the actinomycetes, produce antibiotics such as streptomycin and
nocardicin; others live symbiotically in the guts or elsewhere in their
bodies, or on the roots of certain plants converting nitrogen into a
usable form.
Bacteria help us to make yogurt, ferment
dough to make bread; help to break down dead organic matter and make up
the base of the food web in many environments. These micro-organisms are
of such immense importance because of their extreme flexibility, capacity
for rapid growth and reproduction, and great age................

Virus
Viruses are not classified as living because they do not have
organelles. They need another cell to either live or multiply. They
cause acute infection but the duration is short. Common infections
are common cold viruses, bronchiolitis, rhinitis (runny nose),
mumps, measles, rubella and chicken pox. Rear infections like
hepatitis, meningitis and pneumonia are also caused by virus.
HIV is a very smart virus living in human and are transferred via
blood. They produce acute infection but often dismissed off as flu.
They stay in your body for a long time once infected but do not
cause serious illness. When they go mad they produce AIDS and
destroy white cells and reduce immunity...........

Fugus
Human are immune to most fungus since birth. They rearly produce
systemic infection. Most common infections are thrush, ring works,
athletes foot and mouth infections.
The have cell walls made of lipids and so the treatment is very safe
and rearly produce any side effect. Human body cells are made of
proteins, similar to bacteria so medicines acting on bacteria can
attack your body cells that results in side effects...............

Symptoms
Collection of symptoms = Disease. Diagnosing disease is not a major
problem for doctors but managing is now a major problem. Test are
not diagnostic but help doctors to confirm their diagnosis. Certain
symptoms make people get worried that illness.
People often get confused between symptom and disease. Based on symptoms
the doctors make a clinical diagnosis and offer solutions (treatment or advice).
We have seen people
insisting on investigations, scans, X Rays and were often reluctant
to give a good history. This breech in trust, lack of communication
resulted in treatment offered without proper clinical assessment.
Huge compensation payments and doctors blamed for mistakes resulted
in over enthusiastic investigations but not offer definite
diagnosis. Most drugs offer
symptomatic treatment except antibiotics. Now the medical profession
is moving towards "Pre-Antibiotic era" and soon will have no drug
available to cure.

Disease
We are
publishing information about common disease and associated symptoms.
Our mission is to produce a programme to help you diagnose common
illness.
Doctor
is one who you could say is "A Friend in Need" and not a
prescribe
of antibiotics. They cannot bring in changes to the system but they
can help you and keep you away from clinics where you are likely to
contract another infection.
Pointing fingers at doctors and nurses for people getting
infection is unlike to help prevent the spread. Patients visiting
surgery, hospitals and clinics carry bacteria in their hand and
nose. The doctors are exposed to this bacteria more often than you
and so 48% are said to be colonized with this bacteria..............
