Introduction
Overuse of antibiotics is creating stronger germs that soon will
threaten our existence. Its not war, not global warming nor the
terrorist that will have an impact in our generation than this
threat of super bugs. When
bacteria become resistant to antibiotics, it is often harder and
more expensive to treat the infection. Losing the ability to treat
serious bacterial infections is a major threat to public health.
The bacteria is becoming stronger and stronger with the cell wall
becoming more harder to crack due to over enthusiastic use of
antiseptics, bactericidal detergents flooding the market. These
bacteria secret biofilm to protect themselves and antibiotics cannot
penetrate to kill them.
It may take years before scientists can get to understand how
these bacteria protect themselves, what their genetic make up and
how they are capable of
donating their genes
to other harmless bacteria.
Most infections are now treated with one antibiotic "Vancomycin"
for 3 weeks. This helps doctors to buy some time but the patient
often becomes a chronic carrier and are infectious to others. Often
these patients are confined to their own home and are made to live
in isolation. Spreading is more rapid in people living with MRSA
infected person
Don’t Count on Antibacterial Products to Protect
You against MRSA
Widely used antibacterial soaps contribute to the development of
antibiotic resistant bacteria. The antibacterial agents produce
a genetic change in bacteria which enables them to become more
drug-resistant (Nature 394:531-532, 199).
Do
you or your child really need an antibiotic?
Antibiotics don't work on viral infections, like colds and flu.
Fever which occurs due to virus multiplying in your body may last
for one week. Very high fever does not mean your child is very
ill. Most serious infections like meningitis, appendicitis and
other bacterial infections have mild fever (often un-noticed by
parents). It may surprise you to know that they also don't work on
most ear infections and bronchitis. T
We will soon provide you with more information on what you can
do to prevent and treat the symptoms of illnesses that cannot be
cured with antibiotics.

Head lice in children:
New threat as they are now resistant to various pesticides and
rapidly spreading in USA. This is likely to be a major problem for
parents and school. Itching scalp produce cuts and scratches that
help CA-MRSA to colonize in scalp. Infected area in the scalp of
children will be difficult to identify and so will result in both
head lice and CA-MRSA spread children. Please vist
